Many thousands of glass beads, adorn the large red deer antlers. One by one they are set in a traditional mixture of bee’s wax and pine resin.

On a research trip to Mexico the artist visited the village of San Andres where the Hikuri ceremonies are conducted by traditional Maraka’ame’s (wise men) from the Wixárika community of San Andrés Cohamiata in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains of Jalisco state in Mexico.
